Sarah Abbott is one of only 382 Masters of Wine in the world and so is perfectly qualified to talk about the Georgian wines that are just beginning to break into the western markets.
Sarah informs us that Georgia is, based on archaeological findings, the oldest area where wine was deliberately made over 8,000 years ago.
Sarah then goes on to explain the great wines and grapes of Georgia, which currently are under the region. She also highlights several grape varietals you should try from Georgia during our interview.
Sarah makes Georgia sound like a must-visit place for the foodie as well as the wine lover. In fact, Lonely Planet has highlighted Georgia as one of it’s hottest new places to visit.
Our thanks to Sarah for taking the time out to speak to us in and amongst her very busy schedule at the 2019 London Wine Festival.
