In this episode, we taste another chardonnay, this time from Chile.
It is the Casillero del Diablo Chardonnay. The Caillero del Diablo is one of the most popular labels in the UK and therefore we are expecting a lot from this wine priced at £8:00 a bottle.
The colour of this chardonnay is a straw colour with a hint of a green hue.
The scent, or nose, is exactly what you would expect from a chardonnay without being too over the top as can be the case in some new world chardonnay.
Taste-wise the flavour is excellent, nice tropical flavours with melon being the first fruit detected.
Pairing this wine Cheese wise John M would recommend a blue cheese and in particular some Montagnolo.
This is excellent value for money and if you fancy a chardonnay give this one a go.
