Kylie Minogue’s Merlot (Episode 326)

We taste another one of Kylie Minogue’s wines, this time Kylie Minogue’s Merlot produced in the Languedoc region of France.

Kylie’s Merlot wine was available in the UK at a price of £9.00 at the time of filming which isn’t expensive but not at the bottom of the price range.

The two John’s had a preconception that given it was a “celebrity” wine it might not be as good as one might hope for at that price tag.

The colour is a deep burgundy red, and it has a rich smell like chocolate.

Taste-wise both Johns were surprised at how good the wine tasted with great strawberry and peppery flavour.

The length was also quite impressive for the price.

The quality of the wine at the price really surprised them both given that it was a celebrity wine, and it was produced in France (French Wines normally being more expensive).

The cheese pairing suggested was smoked blue stilton and in terms of a meal, duck was suggested.
