In this episode, we taste a South African wine made from a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon and Malbec grapes produced by the Bosman family vineyards.
We discuss the tough time that South African vineyards have been having due to the recent Covid pandemic and then go on to review this wine.
The colour of the wine was lighter in colour than John M would have expected.
The nose reminded John M more of a Pinotage than either a Cabernet Sauvignon or Malbec.
Just before tasting this wine, we had tasted a Cabernet Sauvignon which cost £5.75 compared to the price of this bottle at £9:00
Both Johns immediately felt that in terms of value for money this wine was just not good enough.
The tannins, in our view, were too high the flavour too thin thus making the wine very disappointing.
We certainly would not recommend that anyone starting their red wine journey should try this particular wine.
