We taste the Grande Alberone Zinfandel wine from Italy.
Wine made from the Zinfandel grape is normally called Primitivo in Italy.
It typically tastes different from wine from it’s brother and sister grapes in the USA where the terroir and climate are different.
The colour is a very deep garnet red with a hue of purple.
On the nose the aroma is very strong and comes out to meet you as you approach the glass.
Tastewise the flavour like the nose was full on!
Only a sip is required to enjoy the taste of this lovely wine.
It’s juicy and jammy with nice soft tannins.
One can detect plums and raisins as well as maybe some cherries.
At £9:50 this wine is incredible value.
