We review a McGuigan Estate Shiraz wine from South Easter Australia.
This Shiraz wine is very competitively priced at £5:50 and therefore we were not expecting too much from it.
The colour was not very vibrant and therefore slightly disappointing, however at £5:50 one can’t complain!
On the nose, the aroma smelt delicious, with blackcurrant and sour cherry present and some earthy notes.
Tastewise the flavour was better than we anticipated it would be based on the nose.
The wine is very juicy, soft and gentle, but it is very one-dimensional with little depth, but for some people, this may well be attractive.
Both Johns felt that wine would be an ideal introduction to Red Wine for someone migrating from white wine.
