We taste and review a wine from one of the most famous wine regions in the world – Chateauneuf du Pape.
The particular Chateauneuf du Pape that we taste is from Les Courlandes, their Grand Reserve.
So wine from this region, because it is so famous, usually comes with an inflated price tag.
The price paid for this wine was £20 sterling and it was purchased in a UK supermarket chain called Sainsbury’s.
Let us know in the comments below what price you can purchase it for in our country if indeed it is available.
On the nose, John M detected parma violets whilst John L was not able to detect anything!
Taste wise John M detected red berries. John L was clearly disappointed and felt that he had tasted wine that at £5:75 were better than this particular bottle and John M was bound to concur!
John L accepted that maybe it was because his palate was not sophisticated enough to detect the flavours that make this wine worth £20, but both Johns thought that there were wines out there that were worth paying £20 for but in their opinion, not this one!
