In this episode, we taste MVSA Cava from Spain. 95% of Spain’s Cava is produced in the Pendes area in Catalonia which is in the Northeast of Spain.
Cava is produced in the same way as Champagne, with the final fermentation taking place in the bottle.
The grapes used to produce Cava however are different and in this particular case, the composition is made up of 40% Xarel-Lo, 30% Macabeo and 30% Parellada grapes.
The nose has a very delicate sweet scent.
The wine really refreshes the palate and is very refreshing.
One can detect a pineapple and peachy flavour with hints of green apple.
At 11.5% this is an excellent drink for a long summer’s evening, but of course, you can enjoy it in the colder months too!
