We were recommended the Nice Drop of Malbec by a friend and viewer Mrs Jeanette Dossett which is available in the UK supermarket chain, Asda, for just £3:99!
When we tried to acquire a bottle of this Malbec the shelf was bare, which might well indicate that it is extremely popular with its customer base.
We will try again so keep a look out for our review on this particular wine.
A Merlot from the same brand was however available at the same price of £3:99 a bottle so we thought we would try it!
This wine was produced in Spain which is not that well known for producing Merlot wines although winemakers in Rioja are petitioning authorities to allow Merlot to be a permitted grape to be blended with Tempranillo in the red wines of the region.
The colour is bright if a little transparent, but on the nose, it is very intense.
There is a lot of cherry and John M thought a Rose Turkish Delight scent.
Taste wise the flavour is immensely powerful considering the price of this wine making this wine a real bargain!
This wine may well take a chill making it ideal for the summer.
