We taste another wine in the “Nice Drop of” stable, the UK Supermarket Asda’s own label. this time it is a Nice Drop of Pinotage from South Africa.
This wine is very competitively priced at £4:25.
The colour is nearly purple but just on the side of Garnet.
The colour is very vibrant and slightly translucent.
On the nose, the wine is very different from many wines.
It was very difficult to distinguish the particular fruits, but they are obviously red berry fruit.
The Pinotage grape was created by pairing Pinot and Cinsault grapes.
The tannins are quite powerful but do not spoil the overall taste of the wine.
