We taste a Sauvignon Blanc recommended by a viewer.
The wine in question is the Stoneleigh Sauvignon Blanc. It is produced in New Zealand’s Marlborough region which has a reputation for producing excellent Sauvignon Blancs.
At £8.50 this wine is cheaper than a lot of Sauvignons from this region, but is it as good?
The colour is a very pale golden colour with a hint of green.
John M immediately detected elderflower and grapefruit on the nose – just what one would expect with a Sauvignon.
On the palate, the grapefruit comes through, and the acidity is not too intense, just nicely balanced.
The length is also excellent with the taste developing in one’s mouth to a more tropical peachy flavour towards the end.
This wine is excellent value!
